Tabbed As NBA's Top Executive
Dumars on being named Executive of the Year:
“Very gratifying. Especially meaningful because it comes from
your peers, from guys who have been doing this for a lot longer
than I have. That means a lot. I’d be remisced if I didn’t
stand here and mention the names John Hammond, Scott Perry, George
David, Tony Ronzone and Will Robinson. Those guys
get out there, they’re on the road non-stop, looking and searching,
and bringing stuff back here to me. I have to mention those guys,
then of course, the coaches and players. They get out there and
make it happen. I just sit there and sweat bullets while they’re
playing. Those guys have made it happen for the last couple of years.
I tip my hat to them as well. If they don’t get out there and
do it, it’s a moot point, this doesn’t happen.”
